4th of July Nails

Tomorrow is 4th of July! To celebrate I painted my nails blue and hot pink, as we have no red nail polish, and added sparkles! Later today a friend of mine is coming over to help plan activities for the neighbor kids. What about you? What are you doing for the 4th? Have a fabulous 4th of July everyone!

Mira, Mirror by Mette Ivie Harrison Review

Book Review!!!
Today:
Mira, Mirror by Mette Ivie Harrison

You know the mirror from the Snow White fairy tale. Or do you? One hundred years later, she is still hanging on that wall. Read about her quest to be human again.
http://metteivieharrison.com/books.html

This book kept me reading in a confusing twist of betrayal, sisterly love, and time. It starts out with a girl named Mira, who's mother has just traded her to the witch Zerba. Secretly I think she was glad of this for her step-father and half-brothers beat her. There she meets Amanda, Zerba's other apprentice. Amanda and Mira vow to be sisters forever, but they don't know how long forever will be. One day Amanda transforms Mira into the magic mirror we all know from Snow White, and Amanda is the evil queen. After Mira has transformed her with magic to be more beautiful for years, Amanda doesn't return from her quest to kill Snow White. Mira is left hanging there for a hundred years, just waiting for someone to come and set her free from her wooden cage. Then Mira meets Ivana, a peasant girl who ran away from a father that beat her, similar to Mira's past. Mira helps Ivana to survive, finding a merchant and his daughter, Talia. What will happen to the three girls? Will Mira ever escape the mirror or find out what happened to her sister? Read Mette Ivie Harrison's book Mira, Mirror to find out!

I liked the book, but the ending wasn't really to my liking. It made sense, but I didn't like it. Overall, I would recommend it!

Brave by Pixar/Disney Review

Movie Review!!!
Today:
Brave by Pixar/Disney

I really wanted to see this movie so when my mom announced we were going to see it today I was so exited!   If you for some reason haven't seen the dozens of trailers for this movie then let me tell you what it's about.

A young Irish Princess named Merida only wants to be free from her duty's at the castle. She loves archery and enjoys being adventurous. One day her mother tells her men are coming to win her hand. She gets mad and goes out to find something to change her fate.

It was a great movie! I would highly recommend going to see it!

The Selection by Kiera Cass Review

Book review!!!
Today:
The Selection by Kiera Cass

(on the top it says: 35 girls, 1 crown, the competition of a lifetime)

I've been waiting to read this book for a long time and yesterday it came in! I was so excited I started reading it right away. It did not let me down. The constant twists and turns with some romance, humor, and fear, this book kept me hooked until I finished it at midnight!
Here's what it's about:

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in the palace and compete for the heart of the gorgeous Prince Maxon.
But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.
Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself- and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.
Defiantly go check it out!

Hello! Here is what I did today!

Hi everyone!

I decided to start a blog to tell everyone about my life. I will change names, * = name change, but the stories will be real. Possibly slightly exaggerated.

              Let's start with today.

It started out as usual with me waking up at 6:15 for school. Sometimes I turn it off and go back to sleep but with the threat of a second alarm looming over my head I decided to get up. I got dressed, ate, and walked to school with some friends.

I got to school, went to science, then to PE. We are doing our track unit so after a run we jumped hurdles. If you are like me and not athletically inclined, you probably would have done the small jumps with me. They were set up as two cones with a hockey stick on top for a bar. Then we got dressed at I went to math. We had a math quiz. I finished early, as usual, and was very bored. When my friend next to me, Jake*, was done we drew in my planner. We weren't allowed to talk all class long so this was an excellent pass time. Then on I went to LA. Then to lunch where I met up with Conner*, Lila*, and my best friend, Julie*. We ate and laughed, like normal. Then Julie* and I went to use the bathroom. On our way back a very odd boy who I don't like said "I love you" in a very joking tone. Strangely enough he has been holding the front door to the school open for me on my way into school. Then I went to SS. After that I went to leadership. It's an okay class, but I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re an officer. We have a speech were working on so that was fun.
I walked home alone and walked into my house to my beautiful German Shepherd/Collie mix, Sierra. For an 8 year old she's doing very well. She is so cute, if you want to see her she is my profile picture. I'll try and post some more.

Anyway, then my mom came home. Then my brother, Sam*, got home. Almost as soon as he walked in the door Julie* called. We talked about numerical numbers. I'm a 7, and we found out she was a 2. Both rumored to be pretty. :P Now I'm just blogging.

Sky looks cloudy, like any other day here in Washington. It'll probably rain again soon.
